The President's Volunteer Service Award

Sponsered by the President's Council on Service and Civic Participation, this award is a recognition program for Americans of all ages who contribute a significant amount of time to volunteer service in a 12-month period. For young Americans, the following requirements must be met to earn an Award:

Age Bronze Silver Gold
14 years old≥ 50 to 74 hours 75 to 99 hours 100 hours +
15 - 18 years old 100 to 174 hours 175 to 249 hours 250 hours +
Families (with children 18≥) 200 to 499 hours 500 to 999 hours 1000 hours +

The Award includes: a personalized certificate of achievement, an official President's Volunteer Service Award pin, a letter of congratulations from the President of the United States, and a letter from the President's Council on Service & Civic Participation.

Guidelines

To earn an award, individuals, families or groups must keep a record of volunteer activities and hours served. This Record of Service may be kept as a diary, calendar, or tracked online using the USA Freedom Corps Record of Service.

Activities should be unpaid and may not include court-ordered community service. More information is available at: President's Volunteer Service Award

Individuals must submit their records to "certifying organizations" that will review and verify their records. Nonprofit, community, and faith-based organizations, schools and federal, state, or local government agencies can all serve as certifying organizations.
