Volunteer Opportunities

The following organizations welcome and use volunteers. Think about what you plan to say before you call. When you do call, ask for the volunteer office. Once you have the correct office, give them your name and identify yourself as a student from (the name of your school). Explain the reason for your call in a clear and concise way. Remember: be polite and treat all interactions with volunteer organizations the same as you would if you were seeking paid employment.

Many other non-profit organizations also have opportunities and are listed in the phone book. Another good source of opportunities is the local newspapers.
