Why Volunteer?

Involvement in volunteer service helps young people develop personal and life skills and allows them to connect what they learn in school to the "real world." It also offers them opportunities to develop personal mentors and role models.

Volunteering increases a young person's sense of confidence, responsibility, and compassion for others.

Service projects bring people together, often breaking down existing barriers between people and promoting a greater understanding of the diverse realities in our communities.

Providing students the opportunity to contribute their ideas, abilities, and energies to their communities is vitally important. When young people see that they can be part of the solution, it inspires responsible behavior, encourages them to assume leadership roles in their communities and promotes a lifetime ethic of service.
